We can provide complete color separations for your job. Each set of separations is done personally by Scott Fresener, developer of FastFilms & T-Seps - and known in the industry as an excellent color separator. You get Scott's years of experience in doing literally thousands of colors separations for companies large and small. Even if you own T-Seps, FastFilms or other automated programs, there are often critical jobs where it is worth $50 to get a great set of seps done by a seasoned separator who can do the little things that make the job really pop off the shirt.

This service is ONLY for color separations that you output. If you need film output of your file you need to order it on our Film Output order page.

Note: Our price is based on delivery time. If you upload a file but do not make payment, the clock does not start "ticking" on the delivery time until payment is made.

You can upload you file right here for free via www.YouSendIT.com. Make sure to including the shirt color(s), the final physical size of the image, any important information, how many colors you can (or want) to print, and if you can read the final returned file as a Photoshop PSD file that you can print to a RIP for halftones or if you need the seps as individual pre-halftoned files that you can output in Corel or Illustrator.

We will determine the best type of routine to run and will email back a confirmation of the order once we analyze the file.

This service is not designed for simple spot color separations that can be done in Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator. This service is designed for high-end photorealistic image or images with a lot of colors and color gradations. These are images that could be done with our program T-Seps and if you think you will do a lot of this type of work, download a Free Trial of T-Seps - a Photoshop plugin. This service is great for start-ups, critical jobs, companies who don't do high-end work often, or as a backup source for your art department - or when your artist calls in sick.

Extras
The above prices are for standard separations. Any extras listed below will be invoiced separately and payment due before separations are sent.

Gang Images - $10.00 additional fee.
We can often gang a full-size image and a small crest/chest print on the same set of separations if the colors are similar.

Poor Quality Artwork - by quotation
We try to do the best we can with the artwork provided but if the file is very low quality or low resolution it simply takes longer to fix things and to separate. We reserve the right to ask for additional fees if we feel there will be overly time consuming cleanup needed.

Separation Re-Do
If we do a set of seps and you then discover you have a better piece of artwork or your customer has made changes, you may have to pay for another set of seps if the changes are significant.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: We can work from any file format including PSD (preferred), EPS, TIF, JPG, GIF, BMP, CDR (version 12 or lower), or AI. We would rather have a Photoshop file in Layers with a transparent background in case we have to do minor tweaks to the file. The file resolution must be at least 175dpi or higher at the final print/image size. We would prefer a file that is 300dpi at the final image size. We can upsample lower resolution files but there will be a loss in sharpness and clarity. If you are not sure simply email the file before you place the order and let us tell you of any problems.

We try to perform miracles but if you send us a very low res file then your separations will be soft. If you are new to computer graphics and are not sure, simply use the Zoom Tool in your favorite graphics program and zoom in to see what is really going on. If you see the file with extremely soft edges, we can't do much to improve that. If the file is a low quality JPG image, when you zoom in you will also see a lot of "artifacts" and random pixels. These artifacts will show up in the final separations.

If your file is going on a shirt where an underbase is needed, we have to remove any existing background.  That is why a file with a transparent background is very helpful. Removing existing backgrounds or a shirt color in the file is hard if the file is low resolution or if it is a busy image. The basic price for separations does NOT include extensive re-work of a file. If we feel the file needs more work on your end we will notify you before we do the separations.

It is the customers responsibility to proof the final seps and color call-outs. We do the best job we can to do a very accurate set of separations based on the information supplied by the customer. But, we assume no liability for lost revenue, charge backs or any other problems associated with a job being printed from our separations. If your job is critical or if there are Pantone colors that must be matched you need to compare the final sample with the information provided by your customer.

The Final Separations

The final separations will be sent electronically to you via an email service called YouSendIT with a download link. If the file is small we will simply email it to you. The separated file will be an Adobe Photoshop PSD file with Channel "separations" ready to print out to an output device with a software RIP to control the halftones. If you do not have a software rip for halftone dots we will send the file as individual separation files with the grayscale areas pre-halftoned for output on any type of printer (a printer with a RIP is better for you because it controls the amount of ink deposit and gives a denser image and better halftone dots). Output files to your inkjet printer, laser printer, or dry film system (OYO and others).

We will include with each separation the recommended print order, ink color, screen mesh and any critical print details. This service does not include art preparation or artwork re-work. We will separate what we are given. If your image has black type and you want separations for black shirts we will ask you for a piece of artwork with the type in the correct color. If you find errors on your part after you receive the separations (spelling, missing components, wrong size, etc.), you will have to pay for a new set of separations. We can't be responsible and while we like to think we are smart, we are not mind readers. BUT... we will use our own common sense and if we feel there is a problem with the file we will contact you before we do the seps. We will bend over backwards to communicate problems, issues and questions.
